The strategic focus of the Austrian Archaeological Institute is on field archaeology with the declared goal of pursuing, and further advancing, interdisciplinary research approaches and innovative methods for central questions concerning the history of humanity. Conservation and restoration are fundamental elements of the excavations carried out by the Institute, whereby both practical activities as well as the further development of the profession are anchored in the research programme of the Institute. Your Responsibilities: Conservational coordination and supervision of the excavation projects of the Austrian Archaeological Institute; Further development of theresearch profile for conservation and restoration; Coordination of the restoration laboratory; Material-analytical analyses and their coordination.
