The successful applicant will carry out the research activity within the project "Forgotten colours - Rediscovering the original polychromy of early medieval wall paintings in the Raetia Curiensis region", financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation (FNS), including: assistance and execution of non-invasive in-situ campaign (digital microscopic documentation, HH-XRF, FORS, Colourimetry, p-FTIR), and (surface) multi-spectral imaging (MSI) techniques including Vis, IR, UV and VIL on early medieval wall paintings and archaeological painted plasters; execution of micro-stratigraphic painting analysis (PLM, SEM/EDX, micro-Raman, XRD); provenance studies (Pb-isotope-analysis, LA-ICP-MS) and reconstruction of the technological processes of artificial pigment production.
