The Archaeology Department at the University of Aberdeen is offering a fully funded (fees plus stipend) PhD position in paleogenetics and archaeological science. The research project is interdisciplinary and will use a combination of ancient DNA, stable isotopes (δ13C, δ15N, δ34S, 87Sr/86Sr and/or δ18O), and/or radiocarbon dating to refine our understanding of migration, kinship, mobility, and diet in prehistoric and early historic Scotland. The project will focus on human remains dating to the Neolithic, Bronze Age, and Medieval periods that are housed and curated by the University of Aberdeen’s Museums and Special Collections.
