The Department of Archaeology, University of Cambridge, invites applications for two fully-funded Marie Sklodowska-Curie PhD studentship/Early Stage Researcher (MSC-ESR) Fellowship positions starting in October 2021 as part of the Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network "PlaCe: Training the next generation of archaeological scientists: Interdisciplinary studies of pre-modern Plasters and Ceramics from the eastern Mediterranean". Candidates with backgrounds in archaeology, heritage science, biology, materials science, chemistry, bioinformatics or cognate disciplines are all encouraged to apply; each project will be developed in collaboration with the successful applicant. The 2 studentships are in the following areas: ESR13 "Plaster production in Antiquity: materials and techniques" and ESR14 "Container and content: integral analyses of Mediterranean amphorae".
