The deadline for the call for participation to the COST Action WOOD MUSICK and its Opening conference has been postponed to the 26 January 2014 to encourage late answers !

The aims of the Wood Musick action are to combine forces and to foster research on wooden musical instruments in order to preserve and develop the dissemination of knowledge on musical instruments in Europe through inter disciplinary research. Inter-disciplinarity is the main objective so feel free to participate whatever your position.

The topics are organology, wood science, conservation/restoration, mechanics, instrument making, etc.

The Opening conference will be held on 27-28 February 2014 in Musée de la musique in Paris, France. The goal of this conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners from different origins from different background to focus on wooden musical instrument and establishing new collaborations using Cost networking tools.

To attend this conference and / or the next ones, the participants are kindly to send the form filled out to woodmusick@gmail.com by 26 January 2014. Authors of selected posters will be invited to the conference according the COST rules.
